Since our establishment in 1950, Yamatsu Suisan has been based in Niigata and has been engaged in the wholesale, refrigeration, freezing, processing, and delivery of seafood with our own distribution system.

We work with domestic and international fishing grounds and business partners to wholesale carefully selected fresh seafood.

We handle a wide selection of fish from ordinary fish to high-end fish.
We buy and sell fish caught all over Japan at auctions and through bilateral trading, offering fair prices and fair transactions. Niigata uses the Dutch auction, which is rare in Japan. With this method large quantities of fish can be sold smoothly in a short period of time.

Selling farmed fish in high demand
that provides stable production. We have a wide selection of high-quality farmed fish nurtured in a friendly environment to meet your needs.

Farmed fish are handled in greater quantities than wild fish and are nutritionally rich in DHA and EPA. We handle valuable products such as those nurtured in a friendly natural environment by feeding them appropriately, giving them the amount of energy they need, rather than overfeeding them, which actually means feeding them until they are full. The fish become delicious as we add foods and fruits containing polyphenols and citric acid to the feed to prevent discoloration and damage.

We handle a wide variety of products, including seasonal ingredients, to meet the diverse needs of our business partners. We offer a wide selection of shellfish such as clams and freshwater mussels for mass retailers. Since sales are mainly done face-to-face, we value building trusting relationships and communication with customers.

Wild and farmed fish are carefully selected and purchased.
Our main product is tuna, which is very popular with both adults and children. We work tirelessly every day to deliver the best tuna caught in the oceans of the world.

We have specialized staff for each type of marine product: shrimp, crab, shellfish, frozen fish, and squid. We buy and sell frozen seafood caught both domestically and overseas.

Aquaculture business

In our aquaculture business, which we conduct with Yumigahama Suisan, we produce coho salmon and cherry salmon that are popular on the dinner table.
At Yumigahama Suisan's Tainai Fish Farm, young fish are nurtured in the pure underground waters of the Iide mountain range, and then moved to fish ponds built off the coast of Sado Island's Ryotsu Bay. They are raised with care and attention to acclimatize them to the waters off Sado Island, presenting an alternative feeding method. The fast currents and deep waters off the coast of Sado Island allow the fish to grow large and healthy, resulting in tasty coho salmon and cherry salmon with firm flesh.
Yamatsu Suisan sells coho salmon under the name Sado Araumi Salmon and cherry salmon under the name Sado Sakura Trout. Please try them.
